Just back from a wonderful weekend, in the hilly landscape of the lake area near Neuchatel, in Le Landeron. An impressive group, a pleasant camping site, a mega-barbecue (barbe-au-cul?), lots of sun, and laughter. A bit lazy perhaps due to the tropical temperatures, but so enjoyable and relaxing...
On the way back, my bicycle tyre exploded so I had to take the public transports but missed the thunderstorm... Tinkie, I didn't get lost and got home safely! Thank you above all for organising this lovely mini-holiday. To those who took them, please send in your pictures!

Thanks Elisabeth, glad you had a good time, and happy to hear you found your way home. So did I. I am knackered today but not sure why : too much sun?

I definitely wanna go cycling again in the Neuchatel area, it's gorgeous. The trip was definitely great.

-If someone understands the regulations to put your bike on the train, let me know. It's hard enough to put them on, to find the right spot, and apparently you need about three tickets in total if you travel with your bike, but it all depends on which train you are taking. Even the ticket inspector agreed it was confusing. It's probably easier to cycle the whole way...

-It was worth taking the bike though because cycling those 20Ks between Neuchatel and Le Landeron was amazing, along the lake, along the canal, in the forest, so nice

-Then there was setting up the tents, wow, some of us really had the full gear there... cooking stuff, chairs, even a fridge? OK, William, if you promise to make coffee for me again, you're on for the next trip Thought the campsite and esp our spot was a bit crowded, but in a good way

-Off to the lake for a picnic and a swim : oh yeahhhh Really nice temperature :-) Some fish boats, some pirate boats, how cool

-It was then time for BBQ, thank you Greg for the shopping and the cooking : taking you on all your camping trips is mandatory now Thanks also to Robby for the drinks.

-And came the night: some of us slept outside on the shore, the sky was so clear we could see all the stars; I was simply speechless.

-Waking up in the sun, on the shore, going for a swim, what else do you need?

-Then after a lazy day in the sun, it was time to head back... Kind of an adventure in itself. After cutting my foot on Saturday on a beer bottle (not one from our group ), then getting stung by a wasp on Sunday, what else could happen? Well, as Elisabeth said, how about a flat tyre? Mine went flat as we were almost reaching Neuchatel, so I had to walk a few Ks, in the storm as well... Thank you to my supportive friends (Wayne, SimSim and Cwunder :kiss, it was kind of fun more than annoying. Guess who got stuck in the elevator at the train station though...? LOL, I guess sometimes things like that have to happen, all in the same day, it's much more fun

Anyway, I am definitely going camping again soon. Details coming up.
