Re: Alpine Ski close to Geneva

Hi Elma,

I am interested in going to ski somewhere close to Geneva. For possible places to go I have found  Les Rousses (Les Tuffes, La Serra, Le Noirmont, and La Dôle). It is 50km from Geneva, close to Nyon, have variety of slopes ( lots of green slopes which would be great for my girlfriend) but I don't know how exactly to get there and I don't have a car.

Do you have more info about the transport or have a car? :)

Best regards!

Leo

Elma,
I am sending you private message.

I have been told about La-Faucille area which is closer to Geneva.

I am trying to find some more info about it - what slopes are there, can we get there by public transport, etc.  but there is no detailed information in the Net.

Can anyone tell us something more..

Col de la Faucille is a mountain resort about 45 min from Geneva, part of Monts Jura domain.

It is a resort connected with Mijoux. It is quite small but very good for beginners and intermediate skiers. around 10-15 slopes all together all in the middle of the trees.

28 euros is the price of the ski pass.

no public transport go there, or maybe a bus from Divonne -that is to be confirmed-

best way is to go by car. Rent a car. or do car sharing.

Super view from the top when the wheather is nice with mont blanc just in front and lake geneva

You can rent skis there and snowboards, raquetttes...

also a few restaurants.

Overall, It is a convenient station close to geneva, and affordable. and great for thos who loves nature and not much tourist.

Let me know if you nned more info

There is actually quite a bit of information on the net.

You can find all the information you need about Col de la Faucille here:

http://www.monts-jura.com/en/accueil-home-hiver.html

It includes piste maps, webcams, and how to get there by public transport:

http://www.monts-jura.com/en/practical-info-winter/transports.html

There are a number of excellent ski resorts an hour from Geneva by car, and which you can reach by fleets of shuttles, most of which depart from the airport.

You can find information here, including a partial list of resorts, distance from the Geneva and links to shuttle companies which will take you there, as well as to the resorts' websites.

https://www.gva.ch/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-76/

On the upper right of that page, there is a link to download an exhaustive schedule of public bus lines to ski resorts, with their schedules.

Hello,

From Annemasse, every Saturday at 8h00 (departure gare routière, close to the railway station), a free bus brings you to Samoens. Register here :
https://www.eventbrite.fr/e/billets-bus-gratuit-samoens-grand-massif-39607773918

And if you get Siliko card, it'll cost 25.20 euro to ski on Saturday, and no need to buy any ticket :
https://hiver.grand-massif.com/skillico

I took the card, it's worth it.

Without card it's more expensive, but you can buy your ticket on line :

Best.

René.
