Hey! Ive been living in Lausanne for 7 weeks now! I am from England, I snowboarded for the first time last weekend! Look up Leysin, they have a great beginners sections seperate from the Slopes! I went on my own and loved it :)

I live here for 2,5 years now and would like to change from ski to snowboard, so I am a complete beginner, I have a car so I can drive to where ever you want to ski/snowboard, big area, small area, fine for me!

What about next weekend? I'm free all weekend and pretty excited to hit the slopes. On the site of Leysin they state they only open on December 19th. Did you rent your equipment there Jack?

Hey Tina! 

Yes, last weekend I rented all the equipment, which is right below the main Ski lift! I rented the board, shoes, even clothing!

I fell over a lot haha... 

Yes, I would be up for some boarding this weekend! It's an easy 30 min train ride from Lausanne to Aigle, then you catch the mountain railway to Leysin :)

Ooh, unfortunetaly Saturday is packed but should you go on Sunday I'd be in for sure

I would keep an eye on the snow report until the last minute, because the last snow fall was end of november and snow is melting.

So did people go to the slopes last weekend? I was in Gstaad practising for about 2hrs, and managed to do heel side turns and falling leaf. Toe side turns are harder because I cant get used to the idea of my back facing downhill.
