Day skiing from Lausanne

Hi,

I'm new in Lausanne and wondered which ski resports are easy to get to from Lausanne on the train for day trips.

I also have my brother coming to visit with his 2 kids aged 5 and 8 who he wants to put in classes for the day as they've never been before.

Any suggestion?

Like Katarzyna I would say that the best resorts for day skiing would be Villars and Leysin though I would add Verbier: car sharing is usually not a problem if you were to post an outing on Glocals.
