New to Glocals - hoping to meet people who are OTHER than high-flyers with no time to socialize or ex-pats who are very comfortably off, thank you very much. Any people out there who don't fit the ex-pat stereotype - eg.those who seek out and enjoy what is "alternative",who have a creative side, who maybe even live on a very modest income - like me!! - but still manage to have fun !If you're not mad outdoorsy types,so much the better!!

Hi, i used to live in london and moved to Geneva last year - and thats really what ive missed, the quirky stuff. Im going to be moving to near morges soon, 10 minutes from lausanne, Ill have some free time so I really want to look for alternative, creative things to do, and its always best for me to have inspiration from people..
I wanted to try and get into yoga and meditation and generally find little live music places or little art exhibitions, as well as trying to get a bit creative myself.. Maybe thinnk about being a bit enterprising, ermm.. do some voluntary work..
Anyway, does anyone know if there is that sort of scene around? I heard Lausanne is meant to be more arty - whatever that means..
Thanks Colette

Hi Colette, Well,it's a question of keeping your eyes open and getting to know people and places bit by bit I suppose. Also it depends what you're into. For me ,it's music(as a spectator!)I rely on my friends to keep me informed - they are younger and more in touch, being Swiss themselves -and by looking on websites for places like the Docks and the Romandie, and also listening to Couleur 3 radio.Lots of places here offer yoga courses and I think meditation too. Lots of people seem to do painting classes too .I'm sure you'll find something. Good luck, Tracey

Hi certainly don't fit the super rich category and whilst enjoying a walk up the hill have no desire to hurl myself off mountains. I originally trained in Dance/Drama but now run a school in Nyon for kids with Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD. How long have you been here?
