Swap Meet in Geneva

Hi there!

As we can all see, sun is finally here ! Winter is almost gone and we -girls mostly- will need to renovate our  wardrobes Cool

So I thought that a Swap Meet would be awesome to exchange some stuff.

Clothes, accessories, toys for kids ...

As I'm kinda new here and don't know how it works, do you think this would be possible to organise in Geneva?

Cheers,

Sarah.

There are many "Vide Greniers" in the area, especially in France where we live. these tend to take place during the summer months: you can either participate as a buyer, or as a seller. If the latter, then you hire a "length" and pay a nominal amount for the privilege of selling your extraneous goodies. We try to attend these sales, as the value is often extremely good. My husband even bought a very clean, almost new electric razor for 5 Euros. We buy CDs at 1Euro each and have dozens of toys for our grandchildren. Maybe this helps, otherwise, you can put your unwanted items on glocals, wrs, or ricardo.ch.

It's true that you can get great deals and they're usually lots of fun. Some (like Ferney in October) will have more than 100 people/families selling things. You can find out more on these sites. I've found that they are most common in the fall (September/October) although there are a few in the spring. I didn't find many at all in the summer (July/August). Here are two useful websites. Good luck.

If you look under "Haute Savoie" there is a complete list of Vide Greniers under this site which are all around the lake district on the soutern side.

http://vide-greniers.org/

There is a huge and extremely good VG on 1 May each year at Allinges where one can [and we do!] pick up amazing bargains, especially CDs in good condition for 1€, as well as childrens' toys.

On the last Sunday in August, there is an equally huge VD in the centre of Evian here which is also very good. Additionally, there are several others in Evian which take place at the Parc Dolfus throughout the summer, and also in Thonon on a regular basis - one simply has to consult the schedule.

Hugely enjoyable, even if only for a morning out.

Who knows, we might even find a piece of Lalique glass worth a fortune one day [dream on].........

Thanks for the heads-up. I just discovered another site that could be useful for those living in Switzerland:
