Vietnamese Lessons or French/Vietnamese conversation

Hi

My name is Trang, I grew up in Geneva so that French is my mother tongue. During my last trip in Asia, I loved it ! I would like to go and work there one day. I am looking for someone that could help me in improving my basic level. We could meet around a coffee or of course if you prefer have talks about politics, litterature or movies :))

Hi Trang

Like you I also grew up abroad but I have kept my Vietnamese as a somewhat reasonable level. If you are interested, we can meet up and I can help you with your basic Vietnamese whilst you can help me with my basic French. Let me know if you haven't found a more suitable language friend and would like to meet over an informal conversation.

Hi Trang,

I can give you a hand too, I grew up in France but I was born in Vietnam and I still speak vietnamese with my parents and family! So it will be a pleasure to help a fellow-vietnamese speaker! ;-) Let me know if you are interested.

Hello Vietnamese fellows,

I was born in Vietnam but grew up in France and lived in various countries since then. I am planning a trip to Vietnam towards the end of the year or early next year. I would love to get back to my other native language - at least some basic Vietnamese -  prior to my trip. I did not get a chance to speak the language since I left Vietnam at the age of 7.

Why not organize a get together over a drink as suggested by Trang.

I can assist with my French (native tongue) or my English.

Kindly let me know if you are interested.

Marie

Hello everyone

I am so pleased there is an interest here for Vietnamese speakers. We should try to get together for some Vietnamese whether it be informal or formal lessons. Do you all work or do you have availability during the day? If you are busy during the day, perhaps we could organise our first get together after work or during a weekend? I agree that it would be a good idea to meet over drinks the first time?

Feel free to send me an email: [email protected] if you would like me to organise something.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Lisa

Hi Everyone

I still have not heard from Trang so I will take the liberty to attempt to organise something this week.

How about meeting up for drinks around 6.30pm this Friday somewhere central and somewhere not too noisy so we can get to know each other and practise a little Vietnamese. If anyone is familiar with Geneva and knows a nice place, please speak up.

If you all are not free to meet up this week, then we can do the same thing again perhaps Thursday or Friday next week?

Let's hope we can start our first session this week or very soon.

Have a nice day

Lisa

Thanks Lisa for coordinating this first meeting. At first glance this coming Friday would be suitable to me. I can think of a nice and quiet place where we can meet to discuss. I will get back to you with a few suggestions unless you already have some.

Kind regards,

Marie

Waooooooooh

Hi Everybody

such a GREAT surprise to read all your messagesLaughing Just came back from NY this morning. I was kind of desperate about any interest in this beautiful language... and all of a sudden, life is great.

Tomorrow Friday 6.30 pm is fine for me too. I would suggest either "Café du Marché" in Place du marché à Carouge or "La 6ème Heure" in rue Leschot, downtown Geneva. Both places should be quiet enough but nice cafe though.

See you all

Hello Trang and everyone else.

If no one has any objections, I would suggest that we meet in the first mentioned place, Cafe du Marche in Carouge.

If needed, I can book a table for 5-6 people and we can play by ear if more people turn up.

See you all tomorrow at Cafe du Marche at 6.30pm.

Have a good night

Hi everyone

I suggest we have a little get together for those who could not make it last time round. How about some Vietnamese food sometime next week or if you have any other suggestions, please feel free to share.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Hi everybody, sorry I am late, just came back to CH this very morning 2.30 am.

Lisa suggested last time the restaurant "CHO LON" in Pâquis, I have booked for 7.30 pm . If someone does not know where it is, we could meet 7.30 pm in front of McDonald, rue de Lausanne. It is just 2 minutes within walking distance.

Looking forward to see you guys :)))

my number just in case 078.6655075
