"Vintage" video collection giveaway!!

Hi everyone

I've been doing a spring clearout and have lots of videos (remember them ?). I can't play them anymore as our VHS player broke ages ago.

I don't want to dump them, so if anyone still has one of those ancient machines or a video to DVD converter and would like them (for free, or maybe for beer in one of the  Members Drink events..).

Just send me a PM and we'll arrange a time and place conveniet to both  you can get your mitts on them.

Here's a few exemples of my collection:

Tommy

Italian Job (original w/Michael Caine)

Some like it hot

Citizen Kane

Only Fools and Horses (several episodes)

Goodfellows

The Graduate

Man In Black 1

Young Frankenstein

Annie Hall

From Dusk to Dwan

Butch Casidy and  the

Get Shorty.Sundance Kid

Terminator 2

Whitnail and I

Thanks Maria

I think I will keep his number maybe to get him to convert our family videos in the near future.

Not worth it for the comercial ones, for CH 20 I can replace them for dvds.

All Mel Brooks films are hilarous Toni.

Yes Epicure, I actually have loads of cassetes (Santana and Stevie Wonder original 70's cassetes and loads of compilations I taped 20 odd years ago).

I play them with my car which came equiped with a cassete player (the deal clencher) and most people have a laugh about it when I give them a ride.

You can laugh, I'm an Old School gal and proud of it!!

VHS really has "decay" written onto it.

8mm was much more durable.

With DVD and stuff, you will have to convert that every couple of years into a new format.

I would try to make some b&w video-printouts, if you're interested in long-time conservation.

They last very long.

Everything else is really going to be a storage- and management-nightmare after a couple of years. (I don't think I have a lot of pictures from my first digital camera left, the camera of which is nowadays dwarfed by the one in my iPhone....)

Thanks for your advice Rainer.

I just thought that I'd offer these videos to anyone who might be interested before I dump them.
