Bail a loyer - what is it and how does it work?

I got a letter saying that my advance for a bail a loyer is due for repayment in June! I have no idea what I need to pay or why, or am I getting some money back, as it mentions a bank transfer.

Any help? Thanks

hi, le bail à loyer is your rental contract. it is not very clear why you should repay the advance, you should check your contract for the answer:-))

Could you pose the original french so we can understand exactly what they are saying. Legal french can be very misleading and hard to understand.

I don't remember two years ago getting any advance, and my bank account wasn't credited with any amount, so why is a payment due? or do I have to set up another loan? Baffled...

Which company sent this letter? How did you get your apartment and how did you secure the downpayment for the rent?

Hi,

Doesnt it refer to the bank guarantee you have to set up and which is then returned to you when you leave the flat - so long as you havent trashed the place ... ?   If you didnt do this when you moved in, they are perhaps reminding you that you still need to do it?
