Changing plates on the car

Hi, I have brought my car over to GVA after moving here. I know I have a year to change plates. 


Does any one know of a service which helps with this? 


Do you know if I can get insured before changing the plates? (for the time i am insured in Spain)

You go to the insurance company and ask for the insurance, once you have the approval that they will insure the car, you go with that email to the Service des automobiles in Geneva and they give you the plates. it is better to go in the morning and avoid wednesdays.

First step is importation as CH is not part of the EU Customs Union but you will be able to do the importation VAT / customs duty free.
