Otherwise you have Divonne les Bains in France, close to Nyon.

Come on, just because things are not offered on a silver plate, you still can look around and do many things. Just be a bit positive and proactive.

The ice rink in Vernet is open till 17.15.

The one if Parc des Bastillons till 18.00.

Hey! The thermal baths "girly"?? - nothing "girly" about them! A good idea for a rainy day.

But it's true,if you don't like skiing or winter sports,you're pretty well stuffed here in vaud(this is when I miss London!)

Best alternatives are the cinema, or.....like someone said,posting an event of your own on the "things to do" page.I'm sure you'd get loads of people signing up Tulio S.In fact,this weekend,I would have signed up for a "let's get together for a dink/coffe" posting in lausanne.And I'm sure I am not the only one.
