Declaring work cleaning lady??
Hello, soon will be applied laws agaings 'travail au noir' (undeclared work).
That's fine, but if you hire a cleaning lady, for 1-2 hours a week, do you still have to declare it, and if yes, where and how?

We have two different things here.
Cheque emploi is a mechanism that allows your cleaning lady to get social security benefits even if she has no working permit and doesn't pay income taxes. That's what the Swiss call "travail au gris". Legally, though, if your cleaning lady has no working permit, you are still punishable, even if you pay cheque emploi. Paying it will legalize the situation only if your cleaning lady has a working permit.

Well, not want to play the 'good Swiss', (which I am definitively not) just not risk being an international terrorist by reinjecting some of my few savings in the Swiss economy while giving some work to someone that deserves it by her/his work!! :-)

But instead of being a boss (always bad in socialist mythology), just want to be a basic low-forehead customer (which is always king in liberal vision). I will be just fine by hoping that the self-employed worker makes right all the declarations and get only a (fair-priced) bill to pay.

With these cheques, there is roughly a 20% tax for all the social stuff (holidays, pension, etc), so for 25 all included per hour, the worker gets 20 in net income.
