Pharmacies rent crutches. If they can't help you with a wheelchair, I'm sure they give you informations about where to find one

I don’t know about mobility scooters, but I do know that any sizeable chemist/pharmacy will be able to rent out a wheelchair.  My own favourite chemist (Pharmacie du 31 décembre in Geneva) has supplied me with all sorts of equipment and gadgets over the years, almost always within 24 hours and always delivered to my front door (and subsequently taken away).

However, the pharmacy will need to have some details such as height and weight of the wheelchair user, etc., so best to ask your brother to send you all this info in advance.

I would like to add that most medicalized things are reimbursed by insurance or by AVS. depond of the sitation of the person in Switzerland. The process is long but it's worth it.
