Installing Android Eclipse SDK

Hi

I've been trying to install Android Eclipse for days but I am getting problems.

What I have done so far.

Downloaded JAVA to my computer, downloaded Android Eclipse SDK for my 32 bit System, downloaded the SDK Starter Package - Extracted the files to an Android Folder where I created one Folder for Eclipse and one for Android-sdk. Afterwards I clicked on the eclipse.exe as I wanted to install the ADT Plugin.
Android SDK Manager - Whenever I click the "Install 7 packages" they look as if they are installed - I actually see them being installed then I get different buttons to click e.g. Accept, Reject or Accept All - and when I click the Accept All and Install button then I get a long text telling me that the Computer is Preparing to install archives - underneath there is a text saying - Fetching URL:  https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/sys-img.xml  Downloanding Android SDK Platform - tools, revision 12 null - and at the end I get this info - Done. Nothing was installed.

Im so frustrated can anyone help me.

NB:// I've checked if the installed Java on my computer was compatible and I had to delete older Versions.

Hi,

follow the instructions as in http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/adding-packages.html. It is straight forward.

i would recommed you to use android forums as its technical and you get very less help in sn sites.

Hi Balu

Thanks of course I added the android-sdk with this link so not much help there and I even registered at stockaway - an Android Forum specialising at this problem - apparently that problem comes from a hidden java file on my computer or whatever. In anycase after scratching my head for ages I bought a laptop with windows 7 - and now Android Eclipse and the sdk have been installed. Even the Emulator - jupui
