How many Italians live in Geneva? How many will vote for the six overseas representatives in the Italian Chamber of Deputies? Anyone have an idea?

Italian law allows Italians living abroad to either vote by returning in person to where they are registered in Italy (from birth or becuase they lived in that city) or to vote in the foreign country where they are registered. To do the latter you have to be officially resident in the foreign country (usually B permit or some other permission in Switzerland) and you have to inform the Italian Consulate you want to vote the first time you vote.

If you want you can also support a party. The party Italy "10VolteMeglior" is a party of young and experienced people who are fed-up with corruption and beaucracy in Italy and the generation of dishonest politics. The candidates from 10VolteMeglio are young entrepreneurs, graduates, and professionals. Some are world leaders in their fields, such as Dr. Flavia Bustreo, who is a leading figure in international health, who is one of the European candidates.

If your interested in 10VolteMeglio there is one catch: they need Italians in Geneva to go to the Italian Consulate with their identity documents on Thursday between 2 and 5 pm or to come to an event their holding at the Geneva Press Club tomorrow afternoon. This because signatures need to be confirmed by a Consulate official who checks identification papers. I know complicated, but so is Italian politics and breaking out of the circle of nepotism and incompetence that has characterized it for so long.

Can't offer you a beer, but willing to bet that if groups like 10VolteMeglio ate able to improve the political system and make Italy better for Italians, you be able to buy more beer for your money in the future as an Italian.

Come to Ferney-Voltaire tomorrow and you will get a free coffee....might help beat a hangover from too much beer the night before.

From 11:30 to 12:30 on Saturday, 27 January 2018, we'll be at 'What's that ?- Place' near the fountain in Ferney-Voltaire collecting signatures for #10VolteMeglio. It's the last few days and we're only a few signatures short of our 700 goal.

We hope the Italians in Ferney-Voltaire will get us past the finsih line.

#10VolteMeglio offer the perspective of hard working people, professionals, entrepenures, graduates, some of the most distinguished Italians on how to make Italy better...through hard honest work based on competence not nepotism, concern for Italy not merely for one's own pocket, and a work ethic that will take Italy to the top of Europe and beyond. While the PD is trying to create a rosy picture when the nation is falling down aroundd them and 5 Stelle dn't want to cooeprate with anyone, we seek to cooperate with anyone who puts the best interests of Italy first and takes a realistic outlook towards the problems we face. Hoep you will join us in Ferney.

Dear Brett, If you and 29 other Italians go to the Geneva consulate tomorrow (Monday, 28 January) between 9 and 10 am and sign to allow 10VolteMeglio to get on to the ballot I will buy each one of you a beer. If you get 40 I buy you all a 'keg'. You each need to be registered as living in Geneva or surroundings in Switzerland and you need to bring your IDs. I will verify the list from the consulate and ask you to send me everyone's email or arrange for everyone to meet at a pub or bar for drinks. But remember its at least 30 or nothing. Curtis
