Looking to start a 5/7 aside football team.

Hello guys,

I was extremely active when I was back in the UK and since coming out here all I seem to do is work!

I'd like to start playing football one evening a week after work. Would be good if I could find some other people who are interested. Nothing competitive - just a laugh and a chance to meet some new people.

It will be based in Geneva. I have a group of about 6 guys already who will be joining from work.

If you're interested in coming along please let me know. I'll keep you posted when we go. No commitment - I'll just drop you a text/email when we're going and you can let me know if you fancy it. All ages/sexes welcome.

Cheers,

Will

Perhaps a slightly misleading title. I meant to say I'm looking for another bunch of people who would be interested in coming along!

Hi Will,

I'm in a team called FCG (we play both 11 and 7-a-side), and we are always looking for teams to play. We play in Vessy on saturdays (training/anyone can join style game open to people from glocals) and matches on sundays.

Otherwise I'm also always looking to play more, as most of my team can not play during the week until the summer. So I could join midweek.

Cheers

Hi Farzam,

Thanks for the reply. We can certainly look to have a match, but I'd say at the moment this is seen as more of a bit of fun than anything too serious.

I'd like it to turn into something serious and for us to develope and join the league but just starting things for fun and a bit of excercise!

You're more than welcome to join us mid-week. If you let me know your email address or mobile number by PM I'll drop you a message when we've got a date set.

I've got 10 people in the office who are up for it now. Would be good to find another 9/10 people who are interested.

Hi Will,

I think I oversold the level we've gotten to :)

We're still in a perpetual state of... I suppose you could call it 'pre-season'. The games we play are competitive but nothing too crazy (some games we don't really have much if any slide-tackles). I think we are probably a few months ahead of where you are. But yeah let us know. You could all come along on saturday if you guys can make weekends too (http://www.glocals.com/things-to-do/events_view/geneva/56545.htm)
It's open to everyone and in the summer there are about 40 people split into 2 games.

I'll pm in a sec with my details. If you were to organise something I'm sure at least a few of us would come along midweek. I don't know if you've managed to find somewhere to play but it's not easy to get pitches in geneva. We use vessy as there are 2 pitches just in case the loca team are using one. We usually end up playing before or after their matches.

In the summer we play there usually on weds from 6.30-8ish. But we need our own place...

Hi Will,

I would be very interested in joining you for a game.  I am based in Geneva for only half the week - Thursday-Sunday - but if something were organised on one of those days, I would definitely try to join.  Like you, I played a lot in the UK, but have not managed to get any regular sport in Switzerland yet.  Let me know what happens with arrangements and I will try to be there.

Andrew

P.S. Sorry for any name confusion; I am replying through my wife's account.

Hi Will,

I am new to Geneva (only arrived this week), but I am very keen to still play some football.  Let me know when and where and I am sure I'll be there :-)

Thanks,
Amarjeet

Hi, my name is Andrea and I live and work in Geneva. I regularly go to Vessy (Grand Donzel) on Saturdays for the glocals-games, though lately I had to stop for a while. I'll probably start the Saturday glocals' games again if not this week end, in April.

I'm interested in any mid-week football game, so if it's feasible, I would like to join.

Let me know.

Bye!

Right guys. Thank you for the interest.

I've got 10 messages from people on here with their email addresses - you'll all get an  email with the details soon. I've got 9 people from work so we should be in for a good game!

I've found this pitch here: http://goo.gl/maps/tGWLT

It is part of: http://www.ville-geneve.ch/plan-ville/sports/centre-sportif-bois-freres/

They have a price list here: http://www.ville-geneve.ch/fileadmin/public/Departement_3/sport/Tous_les_tarifs_des_installations_sportives_Ville_de_Geneve.pdf

Do any of you guys speak French? I phoned up to find out pricing and the guy on reception doesn't speak French. Could someone who can speak french please take a look at the price list and advise of the cost to hire the pitch for two hours?

I'm planning to arrange our first game to be next Tuesday. If someone can let me know the price so I can send the email out to get confirmation of peoples interest, I'll go down to the centre either today or tomorrow to book it.

Hi Will and everyone

My name is Alberto. I will be in Geneva starting from May 1. Originally from Italy, played soccer all my life, first in a club then for fun when I started traveling for my studies.

I'd love to find a team to play regularly. Ideally 11 players outside but also 7 is good. Please let me know if there is some room in this team.

Thanks,

-Alberto

Hi,

A bit late notice I know but we're short a couple of players for our regular indoor 5 aside game tonight at 8pm in Thonex.

Could lead to a regular game.

Let me know asap.

Cheers,
