Ski resorts France

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask recommendations for ski resorts in France falling under the following criteria:

1. Decent skiable domain (min. 150km slopes of all kinds, from beginner to expert)

2. Good snow waranty for months of December-January and at what altitude usually recommended to ensure real snow and not artifical one

3. Decent family facilities (from restaurants/bars to playground, etc.)

4. Decent prices for high season (i.e. in terms of ski pass and accommodation)

Appreciate any recommendation and/or tips people may have since we are looking for spending 4-5 nights somewhere between Christman and New Year's eve.

Many thanks in advance,

Alex

Meribel ticks all of those boxes. Beautiful resort in the middle of the largest ski area in the world (3 valleys) with skiing up to 3200m altitude, they have consistently invested well in their infrastructure so queues are well managed even at busy holiday times. 2 hours from Geneva, I go as often as I am able!

Cheers

Hi,

You can go to Chamonix, there you will have access to 3 differents resorts : La flegere, Balmes, Les Grands Montets you will find slopes for every level. In the village they are lots of activities for those who doesnt ski. I will also find plenty of restaurant and shops

I went with http://www.swisstours-voyages.ch/ they have bus every day I saw they also do Les Houches but I do not know this resort.
