Which supermarkets do you go shopping in France?

I know there are many of them: What's your favourite? Why?

Thank you in advance

Carrefour in Ferney-Voltaire.

Ferney because I live on that side of Geneva. Carrefour because it's the most convenient. There's also Leclerc, but they often don't restock their shelves (at least not for the products I buy there), and there are no trolleys/baskets available when it's a bit crowded. Carrefour is open until 9 every day (except Sunday when it's closed), which suits me well.

The Inermarché at Gex is quite good for fresh meats and fish.

I personnally prefer the Carrefour in Segny as it has a bit of everything and a good selection of foreign foods as well.

Carrefour in Ferney. It's huge, open until 21h, and 5 min from Geneva's UN area.

Actually living over this side of the border and being retired gives us the chance to occupy our time with the proberbial "shopping around". So we gravitate from Lidl in Vongy, through the vast complex and infinity variety at Margencel, including Leader Price, Carrefour, etc. but also shop at the Cora Centre in Amphion as well as the Super U just down the road. This for those of you on the forum who perhaps do not know the number and variety of supermarkets which are available over this side of the lake. Happy shopping!

Hi Edward!

The smaller 'carrefour market' near the Ferney-Voltaire Mairie/Shalimar restaurant is open on Sundays but only until 11.30am/noon... :)) Something to remember just in case you need basic food stuff on a Sunday, instead of heading out to the airport Migros. Cheers :)
