Cheap dentist in Switzerland??? You have to be dreaming... ;-) Dentists are very expensive here and it might be cheaper in France but I don't know about this. If you just need a dental check up I recommend seeing a "hygiéniste dentaire".
Doctors are not "cheap" or "expensive" as they don't "make" their own tariffs, they are imposed by the state.

I used a dentist in france, right at the frontier, you take the tram 12 direction chene-bourg and get off at the last stop at the frontier. you walk about 1min on your left side there is the cabinet. you need to have about 100eur with you. i forgot his name, but i can try to find it out for you - not sure if it's not too far away for you...
Also I can recommend a very good doctor (3 diplomas: generalist, gyneco and psychotherapist) in the Balexert shopping center. He charges the usual LaMal tariffs - set up by Swiss legislation. And he speaks several languages. Not sure if this could be what you look for.

I myself go to dentist back home in Hungary. Even by Swiss means they are a lot less expensive and they are one of the best dental surgeries in Hungary having heaps of Swiss clients as well.
If you need a bigger work to be done, you can combine it with some holidays or weekend trips and you come back with a big smile.
As far as I know they will have a place also in Zurich and have one in Dublin as well for the moment.

As for the doctor, I can suggest Dr. Arno Weisse, Chemin du Point du Jour 6, 1202 Geneva, 022 910 07 07
This is not very far from United Nations, and parking is available (blue zone). He is on vacation this week however.
He speaks English, it is my doctor but also the doctor of several of my managers.
Health insurance is mandatory so you can send the bills from the doctor to the health insurance and will get reimbursed or at least partially reimbursed, depending on the coverage you have chosen.

Hi Castelina,
Have you been to Dr. Johann at Balexert for your teeth? Is he a good dentist? Would you recommend him then? I urgently need to go, but I am also looking for an English speaking dentist. Thanks, Sreyashi.

Hi there.
Dr. Dragomir at Balexert is a very good gynecologist who speaks several languages.
I had recommended Dr. Koehl in Annemasse, France, right at the border - as a good dentist.
However, meanwhile I have checked some dentists here and could share my experiences. The dentists in the Balexert center are pretty expensive, they calculate on a rate of 3.9 or 3.6 (I forgot). The dentist center at Charmilles commercial center - planete dentaire c1 - calculates also on a rate of 3.6 and are not very friendly. I had an urgency, they made a check up and a "devis" but didn't want to go any further and give me any medicine / ordonnance until i decided to go with them.
The current dentist I see right now and who is very friendly and speaks a bit english, is
Dr. Pascal Méan, Rte. de St.-Julien 76, in Grand-Lancy (close to Plan les Ouates). Phone number: 022-3437761.
You can tell him (if you chose him) that I told you to go see him. - if you want. His rate is also very low.
All the best.

I can recommend Dr. Paulo Botto in Vernier. He is my absolutely favorite doctor among my regular doctor, gynecologist, etc. I go there as do my three children. He also has a terrific hygienist.
Dr. Botto is very competent and caring and when I had a tooth crack about two weeks ago he fit me in as an emergency. Not cheap (fortunately I am covered by work) but he is wonderful and he speaks quite good English. In addition the No. 19 bus takes you right to his office (20 minutes on the bus from BelAir stop)
