need a temp phone for 3 months - what is best for me?

hello,

i've just moved to geneva for three months and want to get a swiss mobile to use during that time... i have a UK mobile with me but my contract ends on friday and i don't know how this stuff works... and my UK provider is orange - i don't know if they'd let me use a swiss sim card in it.

sorry i'm really bad with this sort of stuff!

so, does anyone know what is best for me? i want: 1) to be able to call the UK - maybe once a week - for an 'ok' price, and 2) to be able to call and text swiss numbers (mobile numbers more than land-line numbers)

thanks in advance!

Go and get a new sim card from one of the companies. Prepaid are easy to buy practically from every shop on a street. If your phone is locked, buy a phone at the same time. I guess a new phone with a sim card might cost some 40+ francs with some credit in it. yallo, lebara, sunrise, orange, all of them have prepaids and packages for expats who stay here for short perioid of time.

In future, have a phone separetad from the carrier. Gives you freedom.
