I'm writing in answer to your post searching for a piano teacher: I give piano lessons for beginners and intermediate players to people of all ages - classical style, usually. My form of trainings include:

sight reading: ability to read and play music on sight, without prior practice;

Ear training: ability to playback music as they are heard, and

Music reading: ability to analyze/"read" music and break down sequences upon sight, without prior practice.

These training formulas were based on the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) curriculum, which were designed initially for classical music players, but if you are eventually aiming for jazz music, they could become helpful for you in the future.

I recently got a piano from Kneifpl (spelling?) here in Geneva and he gave me a list of piano teachers that teach everything from classical to jazz, and those that speak English. I recently started taking lessons with one of their teachers and I couldn't be happier. They're very friendly and I really appreciate the flexibility offered with the scheduling of lessons. My teacher comes to my place after I finish work at night once a week and he's really good, like I feel I'm really learning and getting my money's worth at the end of each lesson. Thinking of enrolling one of my kids now as he's showing interest in learning how to play pop songs on the piano.
