So... I have been 'reliably' informed that it can be bought from the Automobile service in each canton and from border crossings. Well, the Automobile office in Carouge no longer bother to sell them, and I'm having no luck at border crossings so far.... Fnac have it solely in Frog and expressed no more than mild optimism that they could get an Anglais copy in the next month or two...
any suggestions within this fair city or online?

Perhaps your response might explain the 'Swiss' way of driving?! Its just a 'rules of the road' book, explaining all the signage, parking rules, rules on when those guys on side roads have priority, speed restrictions, etc.
here's the UK equivalent:

I bought my copy from Payot at Chantepoulet, no problem. They also do interactive DVD s with quizzes on the highway code to get you ready for the Swiss theory test. Just ask an assistant.Thay also have the BEST choice of English books,a really excellent selection. Good Luck!

hey, you were right! So wohoo for payot. However..... at CHF 38 for a few road signs its almost cheaper to learn as you get fined.....
