I am a member of the Cern Womens Club. The main benefit is that you can attend activities run by the club. It is about 25 CHF to join the club for the year.  I joined in October. For any of the courses you do, there is a fee but they are small. 

I am currently attending a beginners French course on a Monday Morning and I have already met some ladies and made friends. This course is 8 CHF a lesson and runs until December.

If you have children, there are other groups you could join such as the Women's Club Toddler Group.

What an interesting club! I'd like to join as well. It's a pity that I've missed today's coffee morning. November 25 doesn't work for me as by that tim I shoul deliver my baby :) but Jan 6 seems to be a good option.
