hahahha! I went to Planeta Rodizio and I thought it was alright. There is a new Brazilian place in town called Barraco Chic www.barraco-chic.ch. 

Never been there but will try it soon! :)

Olha, achei o Planeta Rodizio competente pros padroes de genebra. garcons super atenciosos, carne em abundancia, e picanha bem temperada. Algumas das carnes um pouco salgadas, ainda mais pros padroes europeus, mas nao me decepcionei nao.... Alias, os amigos que foram comigo, nenhum brasileiro, gostaram bastante tb. Proxima vez vou tentar Gaucho ou Boi Bravo.

Are these the same style restaurants as, for example, Fogo de Chao in the U.S.? Where there is a giant delicious salad bar and Brazillian guys come around with different meat on skewers and serve it to you off the skewer?

If so, how much does it cost here in Geneva? Sounds amazing.

as far as I know, we have 4 places like this in geneva: planeta rodizio, gaucho, boi bravo and rodizio grill. And the one I went was around 50CHF per person, all food included, but no drinks (this can go up really quick depending on how much caipirinhas you drink). but the rodizio was quite cheap for me, considering price of meat in this city...

I found planeta rodizio quite good, and I come from the land of authentic churrascos (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil).

It's good value, CHF45 for as much as you can eat beef including good quality picanha (and great garlic picanha too) .

I hear barraco chic is quite nice, but haven't been there yet. Wanessa, why don't we organize a glocals event to see how the place is like?

I like planeta rodizio too! the meat is good, they have big variety, the staff is really nice and they have very cold brazilian beer!

but last time I went there the owner was a bit rude (he is usally nice) so I avoiding for a little bit.

As it is going to be impossible to fit in with everyone's schedules, to make it easier for Wanessa, may I suggest this:

Wanessa, how about you picking one date suitably far enough so people can plan.

Then provisionally arrange a second one, 2 or 3 weeks after that. So those who can't make it to the first one have plenty of time to plan well ahead for the second date.

It may also be good if a Brazillian friend can then pick up the planning for the second one.

Count me in, anyway. I'll make it to any date that suits others.

I went to Barraco Chic today and we all enjoyed our picanhas :)

I cant join you on the 25th, but count me in for next time!

They will get the place ready to host us (Brazilians lost in GVA) during the World Cup.

At night, they begin at 7pm. During lunch, orders can be made until 2pm.

I only been to Planeta Rodizio and Barraco Chic, both are very good but diferent style.

Planeta Rodizio is the Brazilian barbecue style, you pay a fixed price and eat as much as you want with different kinds of meat. the place is nice, the food and the staff too, the place is bigger.

I had a great picanha last week on Barraco Chic, also a nice place with a friendly staff, its smaller so I believe its more a family restaurant, you have other Brazilian meals so its also nice.

I agree with Paula, the 'carioca da gema'. Planeta Rodizio has more food 'variety'. But for sure the staff at Barraco can manage most of the things you want (like I can't eat shrimp and asked if they can manage to prepare one of my favorite food without it, the answer was yes!) also they very friendly.

But both restos are great!
