EU citizen living in France wishing to be self-emplyed in Geneva - permits?

I am a shiatsu (massage) practitioner looking to set up my practice in Geneva this fall, and am wondering what the process is like to obtain a permit?

I am an EU citizen, living in neighbouring France and have no desire to obtain residency in Switzerland.  I have sifted through dozens of websites but can't seem to find an official one (in English) that provides instructions on what the process of obtaining a G permit will look like, and what documents / requirements I will need to have.

A G-permit allows one to cross the border for work, but does not allow me to live there, however I can't seem to find any information on what I will need to be self employed.

Proof of clients? (How do I get proof of clients as a bodyworker if I haven't began to work here yet?)

A business plan? Swiss health insurance or will my international coverage do?

If anyone has advice about this process or where to get more information, It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Hi Brittany!

You can find information on applying for a permit here:

http://www.ge.ch/etrangers-confederes/fr/travail/?rubrique=membre-ue-aele#

I believe you'd be applying as a travailleur independant and also as a frontalier (living in France).

You would need to fill out Formulaire F, which you can download in PDF from this page:

http://www.ge.ch/etrangers-confederes/fr/?rubrique=formulaires

and then provide whatever supplemental documentation they want - passport photos, copy of ID, processing fee.

Regarding a business plan, etc, maybe someone who's been in your situation can comment on this. Otherwise you could ask some advice from the massage therapist whose space you're sharing. The best thing would really be to go to the OCP office in Onex and ask someone in person, but I don't know how likely you are to get an English speaker...
