Family looking forward to living in Champel

Hello,

We, a family of four, are moving to Geneva in July. We are fortunate to have found preschool for our 5yo Son in Champel and decided to move to that neighborhood. If any of you heard of a nice apartment available with 3,5+ rooms, we would appreciate a notice. We would also appreciate info on creche for our 2yo Daughter, favorite nannies, afternoon activities for children - our kids don't speak French yet and we would like to expose them to that language as much as possible.

Any help appreciated.

any advice on an alternative?

Money is always an issue, but we don't want to spend all days commuting.

Will be working in Plan les Ouates, our kids will be going to school in Champel...

I'd look for an apartment (or even a house if you can afford it) in suburban places like Vessy or Chêne-Bougeries. Close enough to both Plan les Ouates and Champel, and with lot of greenery around - nice for kids.

Hey Tomek, guess it all depends on what you’re looking for - in terms of standard, size etc. We’ve managed to find a very decent (and fairly reasonably priced) apartment in Champel ourselves, moving there in 2 weeks. But in all fairness, it took a couple of weeks of serious „house hunting” online...

Thank you Wojtek, thank you Anna for your replies!

We are thinking about Champel, because this is why the school of our Son is. Living in PLO and going to Champel and back twice a day will make it a hassle. Our Son, 4.5yo, speaks english and NO French so we decided to send him to international school for the first few years. We found a great school in Champel, that costs less than all the other intl schools. And it looks very reasonable.

While visiting and searching for places we also liked PLO, Onex, Bernex, but we are pretty much bound by the school. We would like to have garden, but on the other hand it will be nice to be close to the center and do some networking the first few years we are there.

Anyway - if you hear about good places in PLO, we will for sure consider it.
