Hello! Could you please let me know the name of your doctor?
We have some concerns about my wife's one and I would like to ensure we are not talking about the same person.
Thank you.

hi
I have 2 lovely sons born with IVF, not thanks to Dr de Candolle (not bad, but his procedure is too long and kills the body, I tried 4 times with him) but to Dr Bourrit (worked the first time with him, his procedure is short and the body is not in pain when the eggs are planted back in the uterus, all the more welcoming).
Dr Blaise Bourrit

Feel free to contact me for more info and the best of luck to you

Hi Stefi,
We have 2 sons born through ICSI thanks to Dr. Dominique de Ziegler. We started with him when he had his own clinic in Nyon. He is now I believe at the HUG (university hosipital in Geneva). We found him the most progressive fertility doctor in the area. He discussed various options with us, gave us his opinion but was also very interested in what we thought and what we wanted. (Unlike Dr. de Candolle, with whom we also met, who was very cold and in some senses dictatorial in his approach - just an opinion) Also at the the time we concluded that de Ziegler was the most educated and advanced in his field in the area. After 3 failed attempts at the CHUV (in Lausanne which would not recommend at all) we were successful with de Ziegler the first time. Our second was conceived with frozen embies from our first cycle.
I wish you good luck!
Tracy

Was just reading your reply, and I was wondering whether you knew if Dr. Gabriel spoke English, I speak French but nor fluently, it would be easier to communicate in English,

The costs of getting to the point of the first insertion may be much higher than you were expecting. The costs are probably not covered by insurance.
Both partners must undertake multiple tests - blood, sperm, urine. That's fees from the doctors, clinics and laboratories. Then there are interviews with the specialist. Tests to get the timing right. Washing the sperm, and ultimately the procedure.

I should add that the medicine to take for producing eggs could easily set you back 750 francs, on each attempt, and then there are visits to the gyro to see if any eggs were actually produced and to adjust the dose. The idea is to produce 3 or 4 eggs, not one. If you only get one egg, then they won't recommend IVF. You will start again on the next cycle. Odds of success are on the internet according to age, but it's roughly one in five on each cycle.

Hi,
I woul add the best doctor here - d-r Pascal Mock.In 2004 he founded, ANECOVA, a biotech swiss company, in order to develop his invention, a novel in vivo culture system in the field of assisted reproductive technology. In 2009 he obtained the first baby in the world born after in vivo fertilization using this new system at the clinic des Grangettes in Geneva. You can follow the link:http://www.grangettes.ch/en/content/mock-pascal Bon chance :)

Hello everybody,
I do NOT recommend dr Mock.
The posts here originally date from 2011 and then go to May 2016.
The one about dr Mock is probably posted by himself.
I do not have good experience from the treatement. I did IVF him in a treatement in 2011 and have other friends with similar experience.
He is there just about the money.
He proposed an IVF in natural cycle when I had just one egg and no experience in treatments. There was no chance and he must have know it. The follicle was empty and treatement very expensive (10kSfr out of which 8kSfr in cash).
As a professional dr Mock should have never propose such a procedure that was destined to failure.
Instead he just took the envelope with a large amount of cash that he asked me to bring to my room at the clinique and I was left alone to my despair. His treatments are very disappointing experience.
Dr Candole is as mentioned above a bit cold, traditional, swiss and not much educational. But he was at least right with the diagnosis: for me it was difficult to conceive and IVF was neither a good option. He is strict but fair and professional.
Drsse Ibecheol : More open and educational but did not liked my partner and had me loose full 2 months of blocked appointment that she canceled last minute leaving me in a huge confusion and a real (another) psychological despair.
Drsse Anna-Maria Stalberg: another traditional swiss doctor. She is unfortunately a bit arrogant with long months to wait to get to. During my appointment with her I was surprised with many judgements pronounced. In addition when I visited her in 2013 she had a very rude and non professional secretary.
BTW. Both: Drsse Stalberg and dr Mock took private phone calls during my expensive appointment and discussed private matters with their friends while I was sitting in their office (in the case of Dr Mock it was all about his boat in the port of Saint Tropez)
Then there is dr. Blaise Bourrit who finally helped me after 4 years of efforts and trying to understand how to do the right treatment in Geneva and how to feel about it. He have helped me.
I recommend him and his colleague Drsse Nariman Jafou who speaks English.
Both are ethical, modest, professional and have a responsible approach by not pushing into any not necessary procedures and non considered expenses. They maintain the cost at the most reasonable level and never charge any extras.
If cost, trust and professionalism are your issues then I think Drsse Jafou is the best honest GYN in Geneva.
At last I can also recommend dr Patricio Andrade who speaks Spanish and Italian. He has a very professional approach and can advice in case of treatments abroad.
All last 3 doctors are the most modest and trustworthy I can recommend for an IVF or advice in Geneva.

I would like to add that I personally highy recommend Dr Bourrit, who helped me conceive my 2 beautiful sons with IVF, 18 and 15 years ago. Very kind and human, but very kept to himself.I liked his approach and it yielded 2 precious gifts: the gifts of life :)

Hello there,
For me, Dr. Mock is the best! I realised that every case is individual from medical aspects! Sorry for you, that costed you so much in emotianal negatives aspect. But for us, he made a lot! And in addition, his staff was so, so nice and welcoming!

Hello Plamen,
Did you consult any other fertility doctors in Geneva? I must admit that my men also felt well in dr Mock office and in consultation with him. His staff is good. There is lot of money involve so they better be. But they did send me bills for things that they were not to charge me for. After reminder they took them back. So out of medical aspect, his office is beautiful too. But from medical aspect , you maybe should know that he has quiet a reputation wit the other Geneva doctors. This is a small place and I am not the only one that was not cured neither adviced properly by him.
I suggest everyone makes their own experience but even if you have lot of money (in my case cash) to spend, I still suggest to ask around to other doctors what they heard from their patients about dr Mock and if they can recommend him from medical perspective.
Best,

Hi, Dr Bourrit sounds well reviewed but I see that he's a OB/GYN. Does anyone know if he sees couples?
My wife and I are looking for someone whom we can both see. We already have one child so we know things work (or worked) more or less well a few years ago, but we'd like to increase our odds as it seems to be taking longer this time.
Is it usual for a couple to see an OB/GYN for this or would a clinic be better (in general I prefer the idea of small practice).
Thanks
