i know a few people who have done these intensive classes, and their french has improved greatly, from nothing to conversational after 2 x 3 wk classes.

I Xylenia, can you tell me a little about these classes.  i will also be interested.

so happens i am to look into signing at UdG for an intermediate level french course - i will pop back here and let you know all know how i get on next week (if i dont forget...)

I took that course a few years ago and it was veyr good. I spoke no French whatsoever at the time so in the first meeting they give all of the instructions in French in order to properly classify people at an appropriate level. I turned in a blank paper and started in a class with a wide range of different people. It was as intensive as you want it to be. They give you the resources (learning lab, native speakers, etc) to learn as much or as little as you're interested in. The focus in the beginner class was on getting by.

I'm actually thinking of taking them again. Do you happen to know the session schedule for the upcoming months?

I just completed my 1 year french course at UGO.It' great course.It starts in september.You have to register on till 30th August.Then come back at the end of september for enternce exam.They judge you level ie.A,A1,B.Accordingly assign you to particular batch.

They provide all the study material.aT THE END again there is Exam After that you wil get the certificate and proceed to next level(If passed)Teaching is done in french only.But teachers are so good that you understand what they are saying.It improves your listening skill.

I had got the certificate and I happy with my french progress.Best of luck to you all.

UGO at gare cornavin have these classes fees are 100chf for whole year-Its 1 and half hour class.You choose the timimngs.I chose  8pm to 9.30pm which is last batch of day.

After I finished the 3 week summer class I asked about this to the director of this program, but they only have these type of classes during the summer. They all recommended ifage though, all the teachers I asked.  That's all I know. Good luck.
