as a newcomer to Geneva I have tried a few of the local Indian and Thai restaurants but I am getting the impression that there is an aversion to making food even moderately hot here. Can anyone recommend either a Thai or an Indian restaurant that hasnt adjusted their "chilli factor" for the swiss palette. Thanks.

You can try some nice Indian food at "Little India"

As an Indian, I can recommend you..........and of course you can request hot food as per your interest.

You should also try spice of india at Rue De Lausane 29, very close to the station. The food is yummy.

Jaipur (Indian) - very nice owners - one of the better Indian places I've been to in Geneva.

Wooden Hut (Thai) - owner is crazy, but just laugh a little if he's rude and he usually calms down - can be quite entertaining sometimes ;-)

Bamboo Garden (Korean, Malay & Indonesian) - English speaking - nice people.

There is also a Thai called L'Elephant but I didn't find a web review (quite good also).

Rajpoute. Pakistani/Indian Restuarant in Ornex. Really nice, and I'm sure they will add as much spice as you want to any dish...Speak to Ghulam the charismatic owner.

For a different experience try the Indian tapas place...
Walk-in Soul Food

Now, I don't recall how spicy they can make things (I prefer things not too spicy), you could ask, however it's fun and different and the host is very nice.
I always enjoy the service and food there.

Have a look at the Chiangmai Restaurant in the old town - you can get some pretty spicy northern Thai food there.

As Yogeshwar said, I'm sure you can ask them to make it spicy.
Bollywood in Paquis is not bad, Bombay on rue de Berne is better. I've heard there's one called Cafe Gandhi which is excellent (as recommended by someone from curry-loving Yorkshire) AND they deliver.
If you're interested in restaurants in general, read my blog (shameful piece of self-marketing, I know...)
