LIPP RESTAURANT (BRASERRIE LIPP) GENEVA COCKROACH FAIL!!!

Hello Everybody,


Today (12.08.2017 at 19:15) me and my friend, we went to LIPP RESTAURANT in Confederation Centre Geneva. We ordered our starters and main courses. My friend ordered Mussle Soup from their specialities. Anyway after couple of spoon we saw a 2cm big DEAD COCKROACH. Yes you didn't hear wrong, a COCKROARCH!!! We immediately reacted and called their chef. One of their main waiters come and see and he said " Sorry for that "  and went away!  They didn't offer anything and we shocked one more time. We left there immediately without having dinner. NEVER AGAIN LIPP RESTAURANT!!! If somebody thinks this is not true, they have our names in their reservation book and they know exactly what happened. Feel free to ask them!

Very sorry to read of your unhappy experience.


I suggest you send a registered letter to the Geneva Office du Tourisme and perhaps also write to (or telephone) a local weekly newspaper called “GHI”.  That should provoke some action, so let us know what transpires.

Apparently it is normal in Geneva.


Once we were in Luigia in Eux-Vives and also saw a cockroach (near the table, not in the dish thuogh :). We informed the waiter and she just said "yeah, now is a season there are plenty of them". No excuses, no shocking...

OK, so I’m  a dumb and now faded blonde, but still can’t fathom what Thai cuisine has to do with cockroaches in the Lipp and Luigia eateries.

Always loved lipp. Just an advice: your waiter is MUCH higher in status than you are. Dont bitch on him. He can easily see who is who. Lipp and other high end restaurants are good in this. Don’t like lipp, go to courchevelle 1850 for 25 euro club sandwich.
