Lawyer needed (specialised in flat tenant rights) - Can you help me?

Hi,

Does someone know any lawyers specialised in flat letting, in flat tenant rights here in Geneva in terms of defending or giving advice to flat tenant in Geneva?

Indeed the building i live in and the appartment i live have been totally neglected for a while. My appartment is in a bad state but the regie does not give any interest in it and try to minimise the issues. Noises are constant in this building and the regie does not do much about it even if i complained about it many many times for years since i have been in this building (since 2006).

As the building has been neglected for too long, building work and renovation has been undertaken since last year and building work is still ongoing. The huge noise and mess in the building are unbearable and unacceptable. I am suffering every single day from those noises due to building renovation which started last year and is still ongoing every single day. I called the regie who minimised my complaint and nothing is happening yet.

They are doing building work as the building has too many problems. I don't know when it will end as the regie could not tell me that. I am stuck with those issues that i cannot solve myself as the regie does not give any interest in my needs and various complaints. I need help!!

I am suffering every day and i don't know how to get out of this misery!!!! I am at the end of my nerves and i cannot live in this building, flat any more as i don't feel comfortable in it. I am always stressed and tired in this building. It is far too noisy, also because of my neighbours!! I already made a complaint to the regie against my neighbours but nothing has changed yet!!!

This is where i am today!  And i am paying a huge amount of money for the rent which is not even worth it, considering all the issues that the building and my flat have.

What are my rights as a tenant in Geneva? I don't know. Can someone help me with that? Many thanks in advance for your kind help!!!

Thanks for taking time to read this!

Best regards,

David

I would in the first instance second this idea. As ASLOCA are top notch and helpful, intiial consultation is free. Good luck.
