Hi Stary,

Welcome to Geneva. There is indeed a city public library close to the main train station: http://institutions.ville-geneve.ch/fr/bm/nos-bibliotheques/adresses-et-horaires/paquis/

The city public libraries do not require registration unless you need to borrow material.

Many public buildings/places in Geneva provide free wifi, you just need to provide a mobile phone number when connected in order to be identified. Map of those public wifi networks: http://institutions.ville-geneve.ch/fr/bm/nos-bibliotheques/adresses-et-horaires/paquis/

I hope this helps.

Oops, link to the map: http://www.ville-geneve.ch/themes/environnement-urbain-espaces-verts/acces/

There seems to be an English Library in Geneva, though I've never been there. It's a little more down towards the lake - but this all is very close ;o)

There is an English library, The Library in English, http://www.thelibrary.ch/, for which there is a subscription. It has amazing sales of second hand books twice a year, spring and autumn. The next one is 24, 25 and 26 April. I do not know if it has wifi.

But I thoroughly recommend working in the city public libraries. The big one is Bibliothèque de la Cité, Place des Trois-Perdrix 5, 1204 Genève just behind the main shopping street of rue de la confederation. It has been closed for repairs, but should be reopening soon.

There is a lot of public wifi outdoors in Geneva; a good place to work in the spring is in the Parc des Bastions, which is the university park.

American/English library is not designed for working in.  I do not think there is even a table where you could sit.  Park de Bastions university library is not too far from the station and is popular

Hi,

in the university of Geneva, site Bastions, there's an eglish library.

To acces it's not necessary to register. you can enter and read, write and so on. there's wifi.

If you want to take a book at home or you're registered like a student or you can go to the Bibliothèque de Genève, beautiful and biggest library in Geneva (60 linear km of books...), in fornt of the university, give them a valid adress in geenva and you can have a library card. With this card you can have books also from the university library.

ciao ciao
