Meditation as a Way to Conscious Citizenship

Hello Glocals!

This thread is supposed to gather people that are currently living in Geneva and that are interested in meditation (or mindfulness and the like). Curious people, beginners and more advanced are welcome. The idea is to create a "thinking group" that will meet once a week to discuss if and how meditation practices could help to better address various ethical and political issues that we face as citizens (education, food, health, trades,...).

Before the discussion session begins we will devote some time to experience collective meditation, in order to substantiate our abstract talking with concrete practice. Again, no ability is requested, except to be willing to try.

That is all about the core idea, we will figure out the details as we proceed. Now, I would like to have your feedback about this embryonal project, so please leave a comment to say if you are interested, if you think something important is missing in this thread, or if want you want to ask something else.

Thank you for your attention.

Peace,

Enrico

Hello Hay, the advice I can give you, for all it's worth, is :

Choose 1-2 days a week to spend 30-60 minutes in a silent, darkish room.

Sit down, close your eyes, elevate your thoughts to whatever you imagine is beyond daily life, become conscious of a spark of light inside your head, without making too much mental effort.

And just let go, even if you have thoughts, don't give importance to them.

Persevere, be patient, trust a higher spiritual power.

In whatever form, things will begin happening on your spiritual, mystical path.

I'm not a coach, I just like sharing my meditation experience, if you message me I'll give you my Skype adress.

I'll share my experience of meditation with anyone else interested of course, too.

I've meditated in groups, but also on my own for long periods of time, on my own. But each person has his or her own path.
