Moving commune-how do you deal with daycare

Hi there,

I'm looking to move from my current commune and I was wondering how you get another place in daycare. My son is 11 months old and only just got into the local nursery. I'm worried that if I move commune I'm going to have to wait another 18 months to be offred a place.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the hard life of child care...

From what I know, you will indeed have to wait in line from scratch. But check with the local kindergartens.

You might want to keep using the day care in the older commun, even if it means a bit a shlep each day.

You could always consider getting an au pair... all your childcare problems solved :)

I'm an au pair here... so if you want to consider it you can always ask me if you have any questions.

I am looking for a daycare / creche in Nyon/Rolle region.

Do you know about a place where I can get a place w/o waiting?

Where to look for it other than walking-in and asking from a street?

There is a new Daycare opening in Gland in 2012. Not sure if it belongs to your commune but they are on pre-subscriptions now so you might still get a place.
