For the price of having tyres changed I am considering buying a new set of rims & tyres and storing the summer set in the basement. I've spoken to wheelbase and they'll ship to Swiss (ad not charge the 20% Vat, I understand I'd be liable for circa 8% import tax when they arrive.

I use Pneus Claude for buying, storing and changing my winter tires. i have colleagues who live in France who say that it is cheaper at Pneus Claude than in France. They have deals and sales and discounts for buying tires out of season. I have been very pleased with their service, but then I have a Suzuki Swift and it's a common make and model to service. I don't know how people with specialty cars have fared.

I am not sure where you could check - or maybe someone on here could help you there - but make sure not to be surprised if there is an unexpected further progressive surtaxe on top of the 8% according to the value of the goods imported and /or in view of comparative prices for the same goods /similar on sale here in CH.
