Prices are going up all the time, 'thanks' to the multi-nationals and greedy owners who can only see CHFs in their eyes.  The Swiss are slowly being driven out out of their own hometowns, as not everyone has great, international, tax-free salaries.  :(

Then again, I've been trying to help family by trying to shift this place & surprisingly there are no takers: http://www.tutti.ch/vi/1706558.htm

What, oh what is going on?  JT.

Naim - it is a bit expensive for 57 sqm.  I pay 1470 CHF for 50 sqm on Ave d'Ouchy, and a friend pays 2400 CHF for large 70 sqm (2-bedrooms) in the apartment block on Boulevard Grancy (next door to you).

And as its only for 6 months, you may need to consider dropping the price.

JT - Correction.  The "greedy owners" are the Swiss-run Regie who kow-tow to (Swiss) relocation agencies, relocating multi-national companies who are being encouraged by the (Swiss) Canton of Vaud to relocate their businesses to Switzerland for a tax-free holiday.

No-body has a "tax-free" salary and most of the ex-pats pay tax twice - here in Switzerland and also (If US citizen, especially) in their home country.

So the Swiss only have them selves to blame - yes it sucks, but the greed of Canton Vaud is what's "going on".

Your Mum's place is a bargain!!

Hi Naïm,

You might want to add 'per month' after the 2,400 CHF. 400CHF per month would be a real bargain! Sealed

I still need an apartment in Lausanne. Any recommendations? (which arent 2400 chf...)?

Also, I dont think there is any tax break for multinationals...if anything, the system protects Swiss citizens. I am a US citizen, and have to pay taxes on the money I make here in Switzerland to US, as well as money I make in US to US, as well as some to Switzerland. No breaks for me...:(

Ben
