I worked in communications for many years both for the Canadian Government, as well as for a UN agency here in Geneva before calling it quits and follow my passion: Interior Design.  I've been studying at a London-based school for a year now and I have another year to go. I am interested in your concept and would also like to chat about the ups and downs of the interior design practice in Switzerland. Any advice you may have for me would be greatly appreciated.

I graduated from visual comm. and design basic master last year. 

can you please tell me about the way of the course that you think.

Is it gonna be with 3d programs or just like the basic of thinking creative while you are decorating your house etc.

By the way, does any of you know, whether there are courses about sculpturing and painting around Lausanne area?

in order to learn a 3D program you need a course that focuses only on that...The course I propose concentrates mainly on explaining the basic principles ( functionality, light, colour, materials etc) of interior design and practicing them through some real case studies. There would also be a study about furniture and different trends in decoration. If there is interest I can also show basics of a 2D and a 3D program, but I would not have the time to go beyond that...

I'm waiting for some more people to show interest in this course and then I will send you a backbone of the strucutre I propose. As I said, the course is meant to be flexible, so should you have suggestions please let me know.

As for sculpture and painting courses, I'm sure there are many, for English speakers as well, unfortunately as I never had an interest in this I cannot give you any contacts...

Hi Diana, funny Im also contemplating a career change from HR to my 1st passion that I wanted to pursue which is interior decoration...Im much more interested in the decore side rather than the design side...I have no patience for engineering or architecture...that might be a down side...but I know I have a natural knack for decorating, colors, space utilization and Im very creative :) Let me know what you are planning on for 2011 and I would be very interested to know details. Thanks for the initiative!
