That's a good idea. I have a cat that sometimes feels a bit lonely when we leave for few days. I can take care about other cats.

We had great friends living close to us at our previous location with whom we cat sitted often for each other. It would be great to finds somebody like that here.

What a great idea for a group. 

We found a woman Lausannelast year to pet sit and care for our beloved Hercules (mini schnauzer) in when we're away or working. Very reasonable rates. True animal lover. We have her come every day during the week to walk Hercules. He loves her.

If you want her number just let me know. I highly recommend her. And I'll join the group too. 

Thanks for sharing Roman. We actually also found reliable cat sitter in our area, she's really nice and rates are advantageous in comparison with concurrence but it still may get quite expansive for a longer periods. So I like this solution when we leave just for few days, then it's fine to have somebody coming for half an hour each day only. But it won't be enough for our cat for longer period.

She has a little yorkie named Phoebe and she is from Brasil. But she speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. She lives in Lausanne near  Parc Milan and Le Gare.

However with regard to the group. I am interested in small dog sitting. My apartment is too small for big dogs and I am allergic to cats. I have a Mini-Schnauzer named Hercules. He is very sweet and listens well. Not at all barkie or mean in anyway. He's very sociable, good with kids and other animals. Most of the time he'll travel with us. But every once in a great while the circumstances are not such that he can.

I´m relocating to Morges and I´m looking for new "pet contacts". I have guinea pigs that are extremely easy to "pet sit", I don´t know if anyone in this group also have guinea pigs?

I´ve had dogs before and love dogs, so I might be able to "dog sit" on occasion when someone´s going on a holiday etc, assuming that the dog can get a long with my guinea pigs. I don´t think I can take cats as in my experience, most cats are not reliable enough to leave alone with guinea pigs.

Yeah, I´ve had a fantastic pig sitter in Geneva so I really want to find a new one in Morges, too bad you live a bit far away.

Anyway, do you know CRACI? It´s an organization that, among other things, organize pig adoptions. They have members all over the place, that´s how I found my perfect pig sitter in geneva. Check out their website www.craci.org...  you can also support the org. by paying a small fee/year.

Well, it´s good to know you exist, maybe 40 km is doable if I really need a sitter (and same for you of course)!

Hello, we'll be moving to Switzerland in January 2013, and hope to bring our four dogs with us.... This might be a bit outside the forum, but does anyone have an idea how to find a suitable house with garden that would be suitable for two kids and four dogs (and is affordable)? Location is flexible as we will work from home.
