Le Traître - by glocals' member Bhustan

I just finished reading Le Traître, by Bhustan (Pierre Cormon) ed. Slaktine.

It's a real page turner and I strogly advise all you french speakers out there to go and get it!

The  characters and the plot are original, moving and very relevant.

No long, boring descriptions, just incisive remarks and dialogs and a fast paced  narrative that  flows easily and makes it hard to put it down until the surprising ending.

It's a real page turner.

Bravo Bhustan!Smile

It's one of the only book I read all at once. A pleasant novel with a balanced mix of serious thinking and adventure.

One can feel that the author lived many years in this part of the world and that he took time to understand what's going on there; Pierre proposes solid ideas without judging the actors of the conflict;

I higly recommend it;

Louis

I knew Pierre for a year or so and I was happy to get his book expecting some gentle travel or love story.

What I got instead was a powerful reading on friendship and human courage against the background of political and moral dillema of Palestinian plight

Excellent reading you would not want to stop until the last page. And for once the main character is not a hero but one of us, filled with doubts and fears

congratulations Pierre, hope Le Traitre will get translated into English so more people can enjoy it

tarik

I haven't *yet* plunged into "Le Traître", but I had a great time with my not *yet* signed copy of  Pierre's "Les Mémoires de Satan". Humour, wit and wild, wiiiiiild tales... If you want to learn the bad guy's (Satan, not Pierre!) version (and other non-official ones) of the story, this is a book for you.

As stated by the Gershwin brothers,

"It ain't necessarily so

It ain't necessarily so

The things that you're liable

To read in the Bible

They ain't necessarily so..."

Hey Marina, if by «indecent bookshops» one means those which don't have my books, sure, I've got a LOT against them !

But you will tell me : in that case, do they really deserve the name bookshop ? Good point, Marina, good point.

By the way, the "Tribune de Genève" published an article today (i.e Saturday 7 August) about Bustan and his book!

right!!! no bustan's??? i'll call them low-litterature pits from now on...
