Power of the Dog - Don Winslow
A summer of badly chosen books comes to an end. Power of the Dog is a very tough, very often outright brutal tale of the DEAs fight against mexican crime families and related corruption spanning thirty years on both sides of the US/Mexican border. Horribly irresistable, sickly fascinating fiction interlaced with true events, extremely well researched. Not at all the light, throw away read I thought it would be but instead a much deeper, darker piece of work, definitely not for kids. Well worth reading.
