Australian moving to Geneva

Hi,

My name is Tara and I am currently living in Australia. I am moving to Geneva mid August to start work as an Au Pair. In Australia I work for a not-for-profit in special events and have done so for almost 3 years. I plan to spend the next year living and working in Geneva, learning French and exploring. I am looking forward to arriving and meeting new people. I’ve only just become a member, so I’m not too sure how it works but from what I have seen this is a fabulous website. If anyone has any advise, suggestions or events happening in August let me know. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Tara

Hi Tara,

I am also from Aus. I've been here (Lausanne) for three weeks now and it's great. The people are really friendly and French is a beautiful language to learn, difficult, but beautiful.

I am finding the beaurocracy a little bit of a pain in the arse but it's minor in the great scheme of things. The scenery is stunning and you are in the centre of Europe so you have so many wonderful places to go to see, and a lot to do.

This site has been very useful in a place where there are many people who are ex-pats looking for friends and someone to socialise with.

Cheers!

Lisa.
