I'm lucky, my wife's been out here for 6 months, I drove down from Birmingham a few weeks ago. Looking for work also, I'm a graphic designer but it seems that every kid with a computer is also a graphic designer.
You think you know a little French, then they speak back to you, I'm lost then!
What type of work are you looking for?

It will get easier. In time you will get used to the changes and language. There are lots of English speaking people here which helps.
If you are struggling with the French then I can recommend Ecole Club Migros. I am just about to finish my intensive debutant class, which was really intensive but I learnt a lot and it has been nice to get out of the apartment.

Hi, Looking for kitchen work, have been a chef in england have all my quaalification, though I know with the language it will be difficult so not bothered what I do. My husband hs lived here for 31 years he,s english but speaks german fluently. Recently got married in england then moved over here to be with him. Picking up a few words but only been here on my forth week so have to be patient.
