Finn in Lausanne

Hi all,

I'm Sami from Finland, and I have just moved to Lausanne to work as a post-doc at EPFL. I'm interested in climbing, hiking and motorcycling, and this country seems like a pretty good place for all those things (the Alps!). I'd also be interested in learning new things like skiing or the French language, if I have any time left. ;)

Hi, welcome to Switzerland and to Glocals.

I used to climb a bit and then had a break. Getting back into it slowly... very slowly Tongue Out

So, here's a list of indoor climbing;

http://www.indoorclimbing.com/switzerland.html

Le cube & Chavornay are probbaly the closest, Chavornay has train connection in Renens then walking distance from the final station, and you get a discount if you show your train ticket.

I'll also suggest you to join groups such as ...! ActivEvents !...Lausanne Climbing GroupLausanne Via Ferrata Group

Enjoy Switzerland! Wink

Thanks Cat.

I've already checked out Le Cube, but not Chavornay. Looks good too. I also joined the Lausanne climbing group. I'd especially like to go climbing outdoors and on bigger walls as soon as the weather gets a bit better.

Cheers,

Sami

Too cold for me to go outdoors now... but by train you have St-Triphon, St-Loup... plus Aigle, Drapel, St-Cergue, Yvorne, St-Maurice, Massongex.

There are also Apps that you can use to know the routes of each place (but im sure you know about them if not using them already).
