Going to Geneva in August!

Hi everyone!

I’m going to Geneva in August to get my master degree in Development Studies at IHEID, so I’ve got 2 questions for you:

What have you heard or know about IHEID?

Any suggestions for accommodation?

I'll appreciate your comments

Hi Cristina,

I am also coming to Geneva in August to study International Affairs at IHEID.

I found accomodation by looking on forums such as this...also word of mouth!

Good luck and maybe we'll bump into each other at the institute :)

Hey Cristina,

I'm also starting my my masters in Development Studies at IHEID. I know from word of mouth and from various internships at International Organizations that IHEID has a very good reputation. There are many people working in Geneva who got their degree at IHEID.

As for accommodation, I am in Geneva now and am finding it pretty difficult to find a place. Most things in town are ridiculously expensive, so I'm still searching.

Good luck, and see you in August!

Hola Cristina

I am also new in Geneva (actually, I will be in 2 days :D)

Finding accommodation is difficult in Geneva. I finally found something, but I recommend you to check the "Classifieds" on the top right hand.

Whatsmore, you can check: www.ghi.ch

If you need any more help, feel free to contact me :)

Hey Cristina,

Geneva is a tough nut crack when it comes to housing. There is a Geneva Welcome centre with tons of information for new comers and lots of links for finding accommodation in Geneva. Have a look: http://www.cagi.ch/en.php

Ciao,

Omer

Hey it's quite lucky to find you people here. I'm from India, although I lived in the States for almost 5 years, and I'll be your future classmate at IHEID (International Econ program).

By the way, I started a facebook group named 'IHEID 2010-12' that you should join if you haven't already. We have about 75 members there, and a lot of threads on internships, housing etc if you want to know more about those topics.

Just wanted to say hi. See you guys in the fall!

I can offer accomodation from the 4th of August for 3 weeks if this can help. I am away on holidays and want to sublet my flat (2 bedrooms, 80 m2, central Geneva).

Low rent against cat sitting, Thanks
