I am Shruti and I have come to Lausanne all the way from my beloved country India to pursue Ph.D. in biochemistry. I started in Feb. 2008, but did not know about this great website. Very recently one of my friends introduced me here and it seems to be a very useful place to socialise, make friends and interact with other people.
I am looking forward to make new friends here, especially since I have very little knowledge of French and as a result I feel left out at public gatherings and functions. I love to travel, cook, read good literature, listen to music and write poetry. I am also a big fan of yoga.
It would be fun to be a part of the common activities that take place here.
Cheers.

Hi Vivek,
Yes u r right, without knowing the language, one tends to feel handicapped for daily chores! But now I am trying to learn french, so life is a little better than before. I am sure there are many Indians in Geneva, and you can find some of them on this site too. Anyway you will pick up a bit of french if you live there for sometime ,I did too :-)
Wishing you a happy stay.
Cheers.
