My wife, two kids (son, 5 years, and daughter, 21 months), and I will be relocating to Geneva from NYC. My wife is with the United Nations and has accepted a post in Geneva. We arrive late July.
Wife and I are originally from Viet Nam, lived in Washington, DC until 2005, and have been in NYC since 2005. I'll be a stay at home dad for a while.
We're busy trying to find an apartment, enroll my son in school, and tend to other aspects of the move. I'll likely pester the Glocals group for questions and advice at a later time, particularly the advice given by a Glocals member that you should try not to have too foreign a name when searching for an apartment. That's going to be a problem -- Minh, Viet, Xuan and Quynh, great for Scrabble but apparently not so great for finding an apartment.
We're looking forward to the move despite all the stress of relocating and anxiety of leaving behind family, friends, and my paycheck.
Cheers, Minh
