Internship in Geneva

Hey all,

I'm in Geneva for a three month internship with UN OCHA. Arrived two days ago and spent most of the time settling in and working. Still, I expect I'll have a bit more time on my hands somewhere in the future, so it'd be nice to meet a few people with similar interests. "All work & no play makes Jack a dull boy" as the saying goes.

I'm a big music-enthousiast, with an interest in just about anything from classical music and opera to country and jazz to stoner, doom, black metal and everything in between. Anyone interested in going out for drinks & music, feel free to drop me a line.

I've worked as a pro photographer for a few years. Started out as a hobby in concert/music photography, but developped into a decent business, mainly centred on freelance photojournalism. I've only brought a small compact camera with me, as my actual equipment would require a suitcase all on its own, but anyone who wants to go for a walk around the city with a camera, or simply talk photography... again, do drop me a line.

For those interested; a few links to some of my concert-work:

(As the in-house photographer for 013 musicstage in Tilburg, Holland, pt 1)

(Bits and pieces, also contains a fair number of shots from the previous two galleries)

I also read a lot, on a number of subjects, but I suppose that's less of a group-activity :) Still, if anyone has any tips, especially in the sci-fi/fantasy spectrum; they're welcome!

Probably more to tell, but as an introduction goes, its long enough.

Kind regards to you all!

Chris

Hellow! Great story at the moment I'm staying with a family for 6 months but after that I'm looking for an internship to as a graphic designer in Lausanne or Geneva, And brought with me a Diana F+, real analogue photography!

Where are you staying at the moment? Is it easy to find a place to stay in Swiss that doesn't take all your money away :D

Have fun!

Easy to find a place in Swiss, or Geneva? Because in Geneva it's very hard to find a decent place to stay and d*mn near impossible to find something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I'd suggest you start looking a few months in advance. It's slightly easier to find something for women, though. Quite a few of the more affordable places I've seen are 'female only', so I guess you're in luck :)

You're staying in Geneva right now as well?

In the region of Geneva or Lausanne. Haha funny how you put it doesn't cost an arm and a leg :D. At the moment I'm staying in St-Livres not for from Geneva and Lausanne, my portfolio website is almoust finished so then I'll start searching for a internship and a place for my own. Where are you doing your internship at the moment?

Thanks for the information already!

You're quite welcome!

I'm Doing an internship with UN OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) at the UN HQ in Geneva. Nice colleagues, interesting project, so I'm loving it.

Should you be in Geneva somewhere in the coming weeks and feel like taking a stroll around the city with a camera, you know where to find me :)
