In the U.S. we most certaintly put butter and jelly on toast! .. thats not a Swiss thing to do it, it just must be a NY thing to NOT do it. I'd be appalled to not be given my welches grape jelly AND butter with my toast in the midwest ;).  But is our staple!

howdy, drew. Ok, man, you have a posse here. Now, organize something and meet everyone.

Do you care about the Giants? Being from New England, I'm hoping Eli and Co. get washed out in SF or that the Pats get their revenge on 'em. We could watch the games at my place on Sunday night or we could go to Mr. Pickwicks.

Other than that, it's up to YOU to organize something and have all these people join.

Welcome to Geneva and glocals. It ain't NYC, but that's not a bad thing.

Well well well you guys haven't seen my mom digging "camembert on toast" into her coffee... grossest thing ever!  The fact that she is French doesn't excuse such a thing :)

Anyway, welcome to Switzerland.. weird people (even tho there in no real Swiss in Geneva), nice landscapes, great chocolate and expensive watches (and food, and clothes, and pretty much everything...)!

For the jelly and butter on toast (really nice), I think you just need to build a bridge and get over it mannnnn :)

Just want to agree with the rest of them. Butter and jelly on toast is definitely american. My mom puts cheddar and jelly on toast though... (which btw is strangely both weird and kinda delicious at the same time) wonder where she gets that from...

@drew I'm from East Coast (Nashville (yeah, ok), Concord and Wash, DC.). You are definitely in the minority here. Just give in and buy us all a beer while you try to convince us of our wayward ways.

Oh, and Welch's Concord Grape Jelly - ambrosia to the Gods! And I grew up there!

It's not a mid-west thing, man!

Dude, I'm surprised the Giants won, because clearly New Yorker's have problems with numbers. It was 18-1! I know, I know. You had our number. But, not this year. Brady is on fire. We have two Tight Ends who can't be stopped - not like 2008.

The Giants winning in 2008 was a fluke. They won, fair and square. But, they won't get past SF. If they do, they won't be able to beat Brady twice in one season. Or in two SuperBowls. Brady's on top of his game.

well, i agree that their D was awful during the year, *but* that's because the stats are just that....stats. numbers. remember, the Saints, Packers, Pats and Giants all had the four worst D's in the league by Passing Yards allowed. So, clearly that doesn't matter. What matters is that the Pats put up more points than the opposing teams 13 games out of 16. Giants were what? 9-7? And their D wasn't all that great, either.

However, last week, the Pats D was AWESOME. Granted, it was against a mediocre offense, but still, 5 sacks! 15 plays for negative yards. Few passes over 10 yards. That's pretty damn good.

It'll be a battle. Lewis, Rice and Reed are good (old) solid players for the Ravens, but Flacco is no match against Brady.

yes, sanchez...... well, personally it's Ryan I can't stand. Both of them. I'm so glad they *both* didn't make the playoffs. Bunch of fat arrogant pricks.

well, i agree that their D was awful during the year, *but* that's because the stats are just that....stats. numbers. remember, the Saints, Packers, Pats and Giants all had the four worst D's in the league by Passing Yards allowed.

Lewis, Rice and Reed are good (old) solid players for the Ravens, but Flacco is no match against Brady.

there are quite a lot of us... i started the Republic of Texas Club in Lugano back in 2004. We planned a big event event once a year and served Texan beer, wine, chili, cornbread, well all the fixin's. btw, we don't all have texan or southern accents..it just comes out when we have enough beer in us.

Since I left Ticino, i've been more germanified and swissified i guess.

omg... from NYC to Neuchatel... You've not chosen the most exciting city in Switzerland dude... Lausanne, Zürich or Geneva would have been more appropriate for somebody who enjoys having a lot of fun. But everything is possible, even in Neuchatel, who knows... I agree with Zonker, take the lead and start organizing events... if nothing works then change city! Take care and good luck! Cool
