New in Town 2.0

Hello Again!

(note to self don't post from phone, it deletes everything but the first line...)

So hi everyone, I'm Joe and I have just recently moved to Geneva from Finland for a one year student admin position at CERN in the Finance department.

I am orginally from the UK but I have lived most of my life abroad. I spent four years in New Zealand, 15 in Australia, and the last year and a bit in Northern Finland for my masters studies, in which I will return to finish after I have completed my year here.

I'm a pretty social guy who likes to be busy. I enjoy meeting new people over casual drinks or food which usually gets the conversation flowing.

I obviously love to travel and experience new cultures and people from across the globe, so I am looking forward to interacting with you all here and hopefully settle into my new life in Geneva.

As I am fairly new in Geneva, just over a week, I'd appreciate any tips or recommendations on places to socialise, such as pubs, bars, restaurants, generally where you're able to converse freely without yelling over the music, places to explore, and activities to do. My French is also at a bare minimum, so it would be good to get some help with it also.

I'm also into fitness, so if there any good recommendations on Gym's here that open fairly late, as I work until around 5:30pm approx, that would be fantastic. I live in Onex, but work in Meyrin, so I am able to travel if need be.

Feel free to flick me a message if you want to get into contact and I hope you have a good, relaxed weekend, given this wonderful weather ;)

Joe

For gyms you should try non stop gym... I go there - they have 3 (i think) in Geneva and its open 24/7. You get a code and your finger print done so that you can go at any time you want :-) I'm also pretty sure the least expensive... I paid 588.- for the year. Its ot lux, but you have everything you need and more, and is kept very clean.

Hope that helps!
