New to Geneva from Canada!

Hi everyone,

I'm from Toronto, will be working in Geneva starting next month.

A little about myself: I've travelled throughout North America, Central and South America and East Africa... but this will be my first time in Europe! I love trying new cuisines and will go a great distance for great food!

I stay active with yoga and horseback riding, I am a book-a-holic and enjoy writing as well.

Looking forward to meeting new people!

On a side note: anyone have tips on how to find housing (yes, I've been browsing this site for ads as well)? As of right now, I'm utterly homeless. Thanks!

Hi Teresa,

It's really hard to found a new apartment in here. I was searched during 6 months !

I can say that, it's could be good to work with an real estate agency to keep an apartment as you are not familiar with the market & paperworks to appy it. When you found the apartment you have to apply immediately (even if you are not sure to keep that apartment, apply it.If you do not want to keep it,you can turn back and say sorry.. of course do not this always, but you can loose your chance when you are waiting to get a decision) the market is limited and many many people searching for an apartment. Because of this reason, it's could be more harder to search from there, you have to apply without seen the apartment. However, when you like from an apartment, you can not keep it immediately. You are applying to that apartment like other people and they are deciding to give to one of them.

During 6 months, network relocation company searched an apartment for me.(I also searched myself seperately from them) I did may be more then 40-50 apartment visits. I have no idea about the cost as it was paid my company, you can reach them from this website and can ask your questions (http://www.network-relocation.com/) , I believe they can more helpful then me, at least they can give an idea to you about that.

Alternatively, I have a friend who is working in real estate sector again as freelance,if you want you can send me your email address to let him,it's could be more cheaper a solution, I do not know..

I was know very good websites but unfortunately, I forgot it. You can try below websites and may be it's could be good to contact with your company to request their help.
